Raver Buzz

Privacy policy

Last updated 10 October 2026

This explains what Raver Buzz stores about you, why, and who can see it. We only collect what the site needs to work, and we don't sell your data or show you adverts based on it.

What we store

  • Your account: nickname, email address, date of birth (to check you're 18 or over) and your password, which we only store scrambled (hashed).
  • Your profile: your home area, bio, photo and favourite genres, if you add them.
  • What you do here: events you're going to or interested in, your buddies, what you follow, your messages and chat posts, and the events, venues and promoters you add.
  • Technical details: our web server records IP addresses and browser details for a short time, to keep the site secure and fix problems.

Who can see it

Your nickname, profile and public chat posts can be seen by visitors. You choose who sees the events you're going to, your buddy list and who can message you in your settings. Private chats are only visible to the people in them. Your email address and date of birth are never shown to other members. Our admins can see what's needed to run and moderate the site, but not your private chats.

Who we share it with

Nobody, except the companies that run the site for us: our servers and email are provided by Oracle Cloud in the UK (London). We'll share information if the law requires it.

Cookies

We only use cookies the site needs: one to keep you logged in (and to remember you, if you tick "Remember me"), and one to protect forms from forgery. No advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your account details for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to close it, we'll delete your personal details, though posts in shared conversations may remain without your name.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Ask us via help and support. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
